Indian Imitating Netas copy American rulebook?
In the run-up to the Iraq war, we had all seen the techniques of spin and hype, the fear of the ‘known unknowns’ in Iraq (obviously, what did you think?) and after the mission was accomplished, the shock and awe treatment in Abu Gharaib, and New Jersey. What is not apparent is the fear taking a different form in changing the color codes of alert levels, depending how much snow had fallen towards Christmas and 2004 New Year.
The Indian Netas approach the imitation of American Idolism with religious zeal. Be it the sitcoms, or the movies, or the songs, or even the nursery rhymes, the imitation is complete, but the Chinese are named for piracy. How could the American rulebook be left behind, albeit the rules are a little archaic and have lost their relevance where they originated.
That does not stop Netas, or shall I say sarkari donkeys, or PiSsU management to use the fear-game for Ambala and today, in Madhya Pradesh. The High-Courts, both rotten and non-rotten, must heave a sigh of relief that our sarkari donkeys and thullas do reach somewhere before the people ‘sleep with the fishes’, I mean Italian fishes.
But it is too easy to forget that tamasha often culminates in the reel-turned-real story? But the donkeys dont care, so long as the festival of lights offers them a healthy supply of greenback sweet boxes. When can we see the color coded alerts in India, lungi utha ke?
